Chewy, nutty, deeply flavorful chocolate chip cookies made with browned butter for a richer, toasted aroma and caramel-like taste.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Continue cooking, stirring, until it foams and the milk solids turn golden brown. Remove from heat and cool 10 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, whisk browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until combined.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla; whisk until smooth.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt
  6. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  7. Stir in chocolate chips or chunks.
  8. Optional: Chill dough 30 minutes for thicker cookies.
  9. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  10. Scoop dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment.
  11. Bake 10–12 minutes until golden at the edges but soft in the center.
  12. Cool on a wire rack before serving—this helps the flavors deepen.
